Other places in this area of Calvados / Normandy worth visiting include Caen the capital of Basse Normandie or Lower Normandy as it is better known in the UK, Bayeux home to the Bayeux Tapestry, the Caen Memorial, Granville the seaside resort from where you can take a daytrip to Jersey and a myriad of other places including Cherbourg, Saint Malo and closer to home the Foret de Saint Sever.
